Apple Plans to Store Content in the Cloud

Apple is rumored to be speaking with the major film studios regarding storing video in the cloud. The plan purports to allow users who purchase video content from iTunes to access the purchased video content via the cloud. Apple has also approached the four major record labels about a similar plan concerning music. The rumors come just a few months after Apple purchased the music streaming service Lala, which has a cloud storage function whereby users can scan the music they already own, then access their collection from anywhere via Lala’s cloud service. While the results of Apple’s actions are not yet clear, it is certainly positioning itself to be a major player in the cloud.
