New Music Seminar: Bands and Music Summit

New Music Seminar, July 20, 2010

MasurLaw helped to organize and present Hip Digital’s Brands and Music Summit at the 2010 New Music Seminar.  The New Music Seminar is the seminal event at which bands ranging from Madonna, to Flock of Seagulls, to Naughty by Nature made their start.  Tommy Silverman, the founder of Tommy Boy Records relaunched it in 2009 and the 2010 event was a huge success.  The Brands and Digital Summit was a closed door invite only event that brought together the biggest names in music with the biggest brands located in New York to discuss how music and brands can work together using new technologies.  Steve paneled with Tommy Silverman and Brad Josling at the event, which was moderated by Josh Gertz, from Hip Digital.  Later in the day, Steve participated in closed door summits involving first all of the leading entertainment lawyers in New York, and the leaders of digital music nationwide.

Represented at the event, which was moderated by Ted Cohen from Tag Strategic, were Microsoft, Big Champagne, Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group, Sony Music, Getty Images, Reverb Nation, Topspin Media, Jambase, A2IM, the major music publishers, rights societies, and more.
