Steven Masur has over 22 years of experience advising emerging and established businesses on new opportunities and business challenges. He focuses his practice on corporate finance, M&A, intellectual property, entertainment, emerging businesses and strategic guidance. Steve has extensive experience in angel and venture capital finance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and cross-border transactions in Europe and Asia. He is passionate about helping new businesses plan a path to success, and helping older businesses bridge the gap to new markets.
Steve brings a unique mix of legal, business, and strategic experience to bear on client matters. He has counseled enterprise level clients including Shazam, Virgin Mobile, Liberty Media, Yamaha, Nielsen Buzzmetrics, Bob Vila and Conde Nast Publications in corporate, digital media, and new business matters. He has also helped emerging businesses in a wide variety of sectors, and is especially knowledgeable in media, entertainment, advertising, consumer products, food and technology, including mobile, games, digital music, social media, augmented and virtual reality, software and hardware.
Steve has been recognized as a “Rising Star” and a “Super Lawyer” by Super Lawyers. He serves on a variety of corporate and nonprofit boards and industry associations, and lectures and writes about major issues in venture capital, emerging businesses, entertainment law, technology and corporate strategy.
Robert has 20 years’ experience representing clients at all stages of their life cycle, from incorporation to exit, with an emphasis on working with entrepreneurs and rapid-growth companies. His practice focuses on critical corporate transactions for emerging technology companies, including seed, angel and VC financings, and mergers and acquisitions. Robert also advises clients on corporate governance matters, commercial and licensing transactions and complex, strategic relationships. Robert’s clients span a wide range of sectors, including technology and media companies, advertising and consumer product companies.
Michael Zussman advises technology companies, entrepreneurs, artists, and entertainment industry clients in the areas of intellectual property, corporate law and digital media. He works with companies at all stages of development and handles clients’ sophisticated day-to-day business transactions.
Michael is the president of the Southern District of New York Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and incoming Treasurer for the FBA’s national Younger Lawyers’ Division. He was selected to the Super Lawyers® Rising Stars list (New York Metro, Intellectual Property) in each of 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.
In addition to practicing law, Michael is an avid runner and has run the New York City Marathon twice, the San Francisco Marathon and eighteen half marathons
Andrea advises technology and media startups on corporate matters, including formation and venture financing, as well as on intellectual property matters including portfolio management and protection.
Prior to Masur Griffitts, Andrea was the Director of Linux Defenders for Open Invention Network where she helped create alternatives to traditional patent strategy and open source software protection. She became a thought leader and highly sought after advocate in the field, speaking at numerous Open Source Conferences globally, including but not limited to LinuxCon and Grace Hopper. Prior to Open Invention Network, Andrea was Director of Peer to Patent, an incubator that advocated and worked with the USPTO to enact the most recent Patent Reform Act, and Assistant Director for the Center for Patent Innovations at New York Law School. As Director, she presented at Innovate / Activate, Pace Law School and participated at the Peer Review Prior Art Roundtable at WIPO headquarters in Geneva. Additionally, she taught the Peer to Patent Project Based Learning Course and assisted in teaching the Expertnet and Innovate / Activate Tech Law Labs.
Andrea Casillas is a graduate of New York Law School and is admitted to the New York Bar. She holds a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from Arizona State University.
Josh Greenberg is a transactional attorney practicing primarily in the areas of venture, corporate, trademark, and digital media and entertainment law. Prior to joining MG+, Josh was an intern with Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard LLP, an entertainment, intellectual property, and corporate boutique law firm; Tough Mudder, an event company that puts on extreme, military-style obstacle course mud runs; and the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center. In law school, Josh was an Associate Managing Editor of the Journal of Law and Policy and a clinical intern with the Brooklyn Law Incubator and Policy (BLIP) Clinic, which offers pro bono legal services to pre-revenue startups, largely in the technology, Internet, consumer products and services, and new media spaces.
